RUVA CHIGWEDERE
Ruva Chigwedere is an actor from Harare, Zimbabwe. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theater, Dance & Media and History & Literature from Harvard University and is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from New York University. Selected stage credits include: Audrey in PLAYING MERCURY and Sappho in DO NOT MOVE STONES (ISLE Theater Company); THE EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES (American Repertory Theater); GREATER GOOD (Company One); RICHARD III (SoHo Shakespeare Company); and BACKYARD DUEL (Titanic Theater Company). Selected screen credits include: IT’S COMING (New York Film Academy, Dir. Rehanna Ngom). Ruva is drawn to stories that center the feminine perspective and celebrate the emotional complexity of Black women. She enjoys teaching, running, practicing her French, and indulging in desserts.
