BIOGRAPHY

Alicia Anstead is a writer, editor, producer and educator. She teaches narrative journalism at Harvard and is a contributing producer for APAP|NYC, the largest annual conference of performing arts professionals. As an arts reporter at the Bangor Daily News in Maine, she won many awards for her writing. Her work has also appeared in the New York Times, Boston Globe, Scientific American, The Harvard GazetteArt New England, The Writer Magazine (where she was previously Editor-in-Chief) and Chamber Music Magazine. She has been an arts contributor at WGBH in Boston, NPR and Witherle Library in Castine. An English department graduate of American University (B.A.) and the University of Maine (M.A.), she has also been a fellow at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard and the National Arts Journalism Program at Columbia University. Anstead was born and raised in Southeast Washington, DC and lives in Castine.
